Warning: If you’re planning on playing the campaign and not running it for others, you should stop reading now.

After a long night (hopefully) bringing the Cult of the Bloody Tongue to a grinding halt in NYC and a much-needed sleep. The investigators proceeded to tie up loose ends. They arrange to have Harvard library’s copy of Africa’s Dark Sects mailed back, making the library very happy. On the other side of that coin, they have to go see Lt. Poole.

Poole explains to the group that the contents of the cashbox provided solid evidence that Hilton Adams was not guilty of the murders he was framed for. Captain Robson is under investigation for corruption and his part in framing Adams, so days aren’t looking too good for him either. In less good news, Rebecca Shosenberg and Millie Adams suffered immense trauma in their ordeal recovery will take a long time, if it happens at all. Poole makes his case clear: He never wants to see any of them again or he’ll come down on them like a sack of hammer. They thought it was a good out. They thanks Poole for everything and GTFOed.

Their next stop was Carlton Ramsay’s office. They explained what happened last night, carefully omitting the batshit parts, as well as their pursuit being far from over. Looking over the evidence they had, the investigators chose London, England as their next point of hunting. Carlton’s niece and secretary, Willa, was helpful in setting up a travel itinerary for them. They’d be taking a dirigible from Nova Scotia to England, getting them there by the 29th, faster than any ship could.

After talking with Carlton, they decided to go to the university where Lillian worked to see if they could get the relics from the Ju Ju House identified. They went to the Natural World dept. head to see if he could help identify anything, but other faculty walked by and saw the stuff the investigators had brought in, and suddenly they had highly respected professors in their fields, clucking over the haul like chickens.

The mask was particularly confusing. A professor of cultural anthropology locked down the design to Congolese, but the wood itself was like nothing found on earth. One professor, Henry Jones, asked if he could borrow it for study. The investigators told him he could have it until tomorrow afternoon before they had to leave.

The Archaeology dept. head didn’t recognize the language that was on the copper bowl, but they were reminiscent of a scroll he had seen at an exhibit sponsored by the Penhew Foundation in London at an earlier date.

Another member of the Archaeology dept. was able to translate the Early African writing on the sceptre as “Nyambe thy power mine.”, which filled him with a thrilling power and made him drop the sceptre when he spoke the words out loud.

The headband was a dead end, except one professor remembered seeing that type of sigil in a presentation where some fool was saying it was Atlantean in origin. That got a good laugh out of the eggheads.

After setting up a time to get the mask back from Professor Jones, Lydia had photos taken of the items that they would pick up the next day when they got the mask.

With the day coming to an end, the group stopped by Teddy’s Saloon to see if the Harlem Hellfighters were there. Finding the Hellfighters having dinner, the investigators brought them up to speed on how things turned out after last night. They were sad to hear about Millie, but were grateful to hear that at least Hilton was going to be back. They all shook hands and wished each other well.

Tomorrow: Nova Scotia and beyond!!!
